Some Favourite Cookbooks

Home Cooking - Rachel Allen

This is a great family recipe book. The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow. There is nothing too complicated in this book. Rachel also provides tips and techniques with her recipes that are quite helpful.

Rachel's Favourite Food for Friends - Rachel Allen

Rachel's recipes are always easy to follow and turn out well. They are explained clearly and are good if you want to entertain but don't want difficult recipes.

Short And Sweet - Dan Lepard

This book is a timeless classic and could be described as a 'baking bible'. Dan explains his tips and techniques for baking in minute detail. Includes recipes for cakes, biscuits, desserts and suppers.

Simple Essentials: Chocolate - Donna Hay

I didn't realise there were so many different varieties of chocolate to use when cooking until I read this book! Donna explains how to make chocolate icing, glaze, ganache, hot chocolate and chocolate custard - and this is before the recipes begin!

The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook - Ina Garten

"Food is not about impressing people. In fact it is just the opposite: it's about making them feel comfortable." I totally agree! This book is full of simple recipes that are easy to follow and make.
