These scales are light weight, ultra slim and when you understand how they work, they are easy to use. They measure weights of foods, fluids or other small items in kilograms, grammes, pounds & ounces, ml or fl.oz. The maximum measures are 5kg (11lbs) or 5 litres (169 fl oz).
They’re very accurate – which is essential when baking. As the plate is slightly raised, you don’t need any special bowls, just use the bowl you are using, sit it on the scale and press a button to set to zero. You can then reset to zero when you want to add more items. It turns itself off after use to save battery energy, but you can also turn it off manually. The LCD display is clear and easy to read.
It can stored on top of a cupboard or in a drawer. It also has a mounting point on the underside. This means the scales can be hung flat against the wall – which is the way I store mine.
I wasn’t sure whether to buy these scales as some reviews suggested that they were unreliable and stopped working after several months. This seemed to occur if liquid was accidentally spilled over the scales. I’ve had my scales for nearly two years and use them at least 3 or 4 times a week. To date they are still working perfectly.
