Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca

Spaghetti Alla PuttanescaSpaghetti alla puttanesca is hot, tasty and colourful and is another very easy recipe.  Recipe books often explain that it literally means ‘Whore Spaghetti’ as it is hot, hot, hot!  I normally add 2 birds eye red chillies (chopped) as I like this dish hot, but you may want to start with just one chilli and see how you go.

  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan.

  4. Add the sliced olives.
  5. Simmer for 30 minutes (with saucepan lid slightly ajar).
  6. Stir occasionally.
  7. Add salt & pepper to taste and add a few basil leaves at the end to give flavour.
